deadxpThere has been some recent confusion about the deadline for the end of support for Windows XP that is slated for April 8th, 2014.  A recent announcement on a Microsoft blog pertained to Anti-Malware and has mistakenly convinced some that support for Windows XP had been extended to July 14th, 2015.

The correct information is that the April 8th, 2014, deadline is still in place.

After April 8th, Microsoft will no longer repair any bugs or security vulnerabilities found in Windows XP. Microsoft will also no longer take any support calls for issues related to Windows XP.   Microsoft and other anti-malware vendors, will still attempt to catch viruses and other harmful software for anyone still using Windows XP beyond that date.

AMT strongly recommends replacing all Windows XP workstations as soon as possible to ensure that no XP systems without Microsoft support are in production environments after April.
